Nicholasville man arrested for DUI, hits pole off North Main Street
Tyler Esenbock, 25, of 1021 Stephens Lane in Nicholasville, was arrested on Feb. 5 for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol and operating a vehicle with an expired operator’s license, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers were called to North Main Street and Orchard Drive in reference to a vehicle that had hit a pole. Upon contact, Esenbock allegedly stated he was not injured, although was observed as having glassy eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet, according to the citation.
Esenbock allegedly admitted to having a six-pack of alcoholic beverages and a couple of shots of tequila prior to driving. A field sobriety test was performed, which Esenbock failed. He then allegedly stated that he had consumed too much alcohol to be operating a motor vehicle and was very apologetic to officers, according to the citation.
Esenbock was placed under arrest and was transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center.
Lancaster man arrested for possession of Suboxone
John R. Allen Jr., 27, of 113 Doe Run in Lancaster, was arrested Feb. 3 for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers received a call to the All-Star on South US 27 for suspicious subjects in a vehicle. After making contact, Allen was allegedly found to be in possession of a controlled substance in plain view on the floorboard of the vehicle was a single Suboxone tablet, according to the citation.
Allen admitted to using a piece of the Suboxone by injection, and told officers that he had several needles and a spoon in the sunglasses case in the center of his vehicle.
Allen was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.
Nicholasville man arrested for DUI after reports of reckless driving
Chase A. Smith, 26, of 215 Christopher Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested Feb. 3 for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol and no operator’s license, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers responded to a call of a reckless driver traveling southbound on the US27 from Catnip Hill Road. The caller advised officers Smith was allegedly failing to maintain his lane of travel. Officers then observed Smith turn left onto North Main Street and take another left onto Peachtree Drive. Once on Peachtree Drive, Smith was observed allegedly drifting towards the opposite side of the roadway, according to the citation.
Smith was detained and asked to exit the vehicle for a field sobriety test which he failed. Smith was transported to St. Joseph Jessamine where he refused to submit to a Kentucky State Police drug test, according to the citation.
Smith was arrested and taken to the Jessamine County Detention Center.
Lancaster man arrested for drugs,
possession of paraphernalia
Christopher M. Mullins, 40, of 334 High Bridge Road in Lancaster, was arrested on Feb. 3 for possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers received a 911 call that Mullins was in a vehicle with another subject possibly using drugs. A small tin wrapper was allegedly observed on the floor boards next to Mullins foot. Mullins opened the wrapper upon request, which showed a Suboxone tablet, according to the citation.
Upon searching Mullins, officers retrieved a small plastic baggie of marijuana. Rolling papers were also retrieved, which Mullins allegedly stated he uses to smoke marijuana.
Mullins was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.
Lawrenceburg man arrested after found asleep behind the wheel
Gerardo Julio Gallegos, 34, of 2013 Mooreland Drive in Lawrenceburg, was arrested Feb. 2 for alcohol intoxication in a public place, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers responded to the parking lot in Sam’s Club in reference to a motor vehicle accident where the subject was allegedly passed out in the front seat of a truck which had struck a parked car. Officers observed a Dodge truck which had hit a silver Ford passenger car who’s owners told officers they had been parked first and were in the store when their vehicle was hit, according to the citation.
Opening the door, officers woke Gallegos, who allegedly had a bottle containing his own urine in his lap as well as an empty bottle of vodka under his driver’s seat. Gallegos advised the officers that he was picking “her” up, although he never advised them who “her” was, according to the citation.
Upon being asked to step out of the vehicle, Gallegos allegedly struggled to keep his balance and was described as manifestly under the influence posing as a danger to himself and/or others.
Winchester man arrested for DUI
after reports of erratic driving
Thomas R. Roberts, 53, of 57 Locust Drive in Winchester, was arrested on Jan. 31 for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to North Main Street in reference to a reckless driver traveling south bound. The caller advised that the vehicle was allegedly “all over the road.” Upon locating the vehicle, officers observed the vehicle hit the double line in front of the Police Department, and later observed the operator of the vehicle allegedly hit his brakes a couple times while traffic was moving forward causing other vehicles to quickly need to utilize their brakes, according to the citation.
Initiating a traffic stop in front of Edgewood Baptist Church, Roberts was allegedly observed as having constricted pupils and was asked if he had used drugs or consumed any alcohol which he allegedly informed the officer that he had not.
Roberts was asked to perform a field sobriety test, which he allegedly failed. He was placed under arrest and was transported to St. Joseph Jessamine where he allegedly refused a blood test.
Roberts was then transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.
Nicholasville man charged with DUI
after being stopped at gas station
Dean Deon Gartrell, 39, of 500 Beauford Place No. 50 in Nicholasville, was arrested Jan. 31 for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers were flagged down by a citizen and Gartrell was observed by officers to be “manifestly intoxicated,” and allegedly stated he had driven to the Five Star gas station.
Gartrell’s car was observed still running in the parking lot, and agreed to a field sobriety test which he failed. He then consented to a breathalyzer test, with results allegedly of .117.
Gartrell was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.
Man arrested for possession of drugs, paraphernalia
Austin B. Crowe, 24, address unknown, was arrested Jan. 28 for trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers responded to North Main Street in reference to a dispute where multiple subjects advised officers Crowe allegedly had a displayed firearm. Upon detaining and performing a frisk, officers allegedly felt multiple items in Crowe’s inner jacket pocket.
A search produced a pink hard case containing a scale, Powerball ticket and a calibration weight. Officers then allegedly recovered a blue/black container which contained several clear bags. One bag allegedly contained a brown powdery substance, another bag allegedly contained red/orange pills and the third bag allegedly contained a green leafy substance, according to the citation.
Crowe was then informed of his Miranda rights, which he allegedly waived. Crowe then allegedly identified the substances as heroin, Suboxone and marijuana. Officers then retrieved a second Powerball ticket from Crowe’s wallet, which he advised them also contained heroin.
Upon searching the vehicle, officers recovered a firearm which matched the description given by witnesses who advised Crowe did not pull or point the firearm, although raised his shirt to display it on his waist.
Crowe was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.
Stanford man arrested for trafficking heroin
Hagen B. Whittaker, 22, of 315 Whittaker Lane in Stanford, was arrested Feb. 2 for trafficking in a controlled substance (heroin) and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.
Officers responding to a reckless driver on Main Street and conducted a traffic stop where they became aware the front passenger of the vehicle had three out-of-county warrants. A search allegedly resulted in the discovery of a syringe in Whittaker’s right front pants pocket, as well as a clear bag containing a brown powdery substance in his back pocket.
Whittaker was then informed of his miranda rights, which he waived, according to the citation. Whittaker allegedly informed officers what they had found was two grams of heroin, and gave them consent to search the vehicle.
In plain view where Whittaker was seated the officer allegedly found a small clear bag containing a powdery substance which Whittaker allegedly also advised was heroin.
Whittaker then advised officers the heroin belonged to his mother, according to the citation.
Officers then located another syringe, a portable scale and a bag containing a white powdery substance which Whittaker allegedly advised was BC Powder and that he used it to cut the heroin when he sold it.

— Cameron R. Howard, 19, of 000 Savage Way in Nicholasville, was arrested on Jan. 29 for theft by unlawful taking or distribution shoplifting under $500.
— Tiffany Elaine Naylor, 28, of 227 East Tiverton Way in Lexington, was arrested on Jan. 29 for theft by unlawful taking or distribution shoplifting under $500, first offense possession of a controlled substance in the first degree (methamphetamine) and promoting contraband in the first degree.
— Larry T. Byrd, 35, of 412 Dallas Avenue in Lexington, was arrested on Jan. 30 for theft of identity of another without consent, parole violation, contempt of court and failure to appear.
— Michael Allen Curtsinger, 27, of 221 Shreveport Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested on Jan. 30 for violation of a Kentucky emergency protection order and a first and second offense of alcohol intoxication in a public place.
— Michelle Bruner, 31, of 102 MapleLeaf Land in Nicholasville, was arrested on Jan. 31 for non-payment of court costs.
— Angela Byrd, 36, of 135 Grinder in Nicholasville, was arrested on Jan. 31 for teft by unlawful taking or distribution all others under $500.
— Steven Williams, 33, of 303 Garnet Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested on Jan. 31 for assault in the fourth degree.
— Shaunte M. Bagby, 42, of 3060 Dale Hollow Drive in Lexington, was arrested on Jan. 31 for theft by unlawful taking under $500.
— Joshua J. Holman, 23, of 97 Knight Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested on Jan. 31 for non-payment of fines.
— Logan Cross, 18, of 304 Williamsburg Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested on Jan. 31 for failure to pay.
— Martin D. Laudill, 45, of 1025 Old Railroad Road in Nicholasville, was arrested on Jan. 31for failure to appear.
— Sean M. Blackford, 33, of 165 North Hanover in Lexington, was arrested on Jan. 31 for assault in the second degree.
— Alyssa Youngblood, 29, of 220 Shrevport Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested on Jan. 31 for a post arrest complaint.
— Ashley N. Morgerson, 36, of 1174 Old Oxford Road in Georgetown, was arrested on Feb. 1 for contempt of court.
— Michael L. Burgin, 31, of 817 South Central Avenue in Nicholasville, was arrested on Feb. 3 for receiving stolen property under $500.
— Joey Vernon Reed, 37, of 465 Kesterson Road in Nicholasville, was arrested on Feb. 1 for non-payment of fines.
— Ethel L. Lynch, 73, of 2440 Bethel Road in Nicholasville, was arrested on Feb. 1 for non-payment of fines.
— Travis M. Dailey, 32, of 506 Miles Road in Nicholasville, was arrested on Feb. 2 for non-payment of fines.
Lori Anne Burton, 50, of 3 Flagship Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested on Feb. 2 for failure to appear.
Ricky S. Bray, 31, of 610 North Central Avenue, was arrested on Feb. 4 for non-payment of fines.
