Red Oak Elementary School has chosen the Jessamine County Homeless Coalition as its Giving Project this year. The purpose of the project is to bless others, encourage giving and capture a teaching moment for students. This year, the Eve Bunting book “December” is the foundation for the project. The book is centered around a homeless boy and his mother and has been read by Principal Andrea McNeal at the school’s morning meetings. The school collected homeless shelter donations from Dec. 4 through Dec. 15 that were then donated to the Jessamine County Homeless Coalition in time for Christmas.
