On Friday, May 19, Nicholasville’s new Liquor Mart welcomed new customers and old friends in for a visit as the owners cut the ribbon welcoming them into the local business community.

“This is home to me,” said co-owner Jill Taylor, who is originally from Nicholasville even though her and husband Jack now live in Richmond. Jill told the crowd at the event that she and Jack both started as sales representatives in the liquor business, and worked their way up to being store owners.

“Jack and his brother opened up several different Liquor Marts,” she said. “They currently have one in Georgetown, Corbin, Danville and Lancaster. Jack and I decided to come out here to Nicholasville and bring our expertise and this beautiful selection of all kinds of craft beers, bourbons, wines and everything.”

She said that whereas many locals used to make the journey to Lexington for a wide variety of bottled spirits, they now have been seeing a pick up in traffic from Lexington shoppers dropping in to browse the selection of the remodeled and revamped store.

Liquor Mart Nicholasville is located at 2233 Lexington Road.
