“The two men guided us to the location where they had made the discovery. One deputy and the two individuals were able to make it to the location safely and were able to confirm that the remains did appear to be human,” said Sheriff Kevin Grimes in the Facebook post.

Detectives from both agencies and County and City Fire Departments responded with boats, water gear, and equipment. With assistance from the Fire Departments, detectives were able to reach the scene to begin processing.

The Jessamine County Coroner’s Office was notified and responded as well. The remains were collected and will be transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Office.

“As of this time, all we can say is that the skeletal remains are of a male adult.  We will have to wait until the Medical Examiner’s Office can conduct additional testing to determine who the individual may be,” said Sheriff Grimes in the Facebook post.

There is no additional information at this time.
