After several days of rain and storming, Jessamine County is extending the brush pile drop off hours from Thursday, Oct. 3 to Saturday, Oct. 12.

 

The service allows residents to drop off natural storm debris. Typically, only Nicholasville residents can use the service free of charge, but due to a partnership between the city and the county, during the extended hours over the next week, this is available for residents throughout Jessamine County. Proof of residency is still required, so bring a valid ID. 

 

The drop-off brush pile is located at the Wastewater Treatment Plant at 2296 Shun Pike Nicholasville, Ky 40356. Hours from October 3 to October 12 are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. The facility is closed on Sundays. 

 

Outside of the extended hours, the facility is typically closed on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in addition to Sunday. Hours are changed for holidays, weather conditions, debris volume, and other factors. 

 

The facility accepts debris and yard waste. Material must be eight inches in diameter or less and un-bagged. The following debris that is accepted is branches, brush, grass clippings, leaves, and stumps, logs, and tree trunks. 

 

Republic Services also provide leaf collection services. The trash collection company will collect up to 12 bags of leaves a week on the residents’ weekly trash collection at no extra charge. 

 

Also, Republic Services can schedule additional collections of 13 to 30 bags for $14.25 per pickup, which also be on the typical weekly trash pick up day. Call Republic at (859) 305 1073 to schedule an additional pickup as this is a prepaid service.
