Remembering the fallen Many gather at Camp Nelson National Cemetery for Memorial Day

A large crowd gathered on Memorial Day to pay tribute to American soldiers at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. A ceremony was held, which featured the West Jessamine High School band, a cannon salute, special speakers and guests along with a fly over from an ‘old era’ plane. The event also featured an introduction of the Missing Man Table, Kentucky Vietnam MIA recognition, memorial wreath placement, riffle volleys, recognition of American soldiers buried overseas and playing of “Taps.” Those in attendance were also encouraged to tour the cemetery during the event.
