TV listings moved into weekly paper
Published 12:57 pm Thursday, August 3, 2017
Starting today, The Jessamine Journal has converted its TV listing publication into a condensed one-page version that will print inside the newspaper each week.
Every Thursday, we will publish one week’s worth of listings highlighting primetime programming.
“This was not an easy decision because we know that a small segment of our readers enjoyed the full TV book. This change reflects the evolving way that people can better access this programming information through the internet and their television,” said Journal publisher Michael Caldwell. “This allows us to best utilize our valuable resources toward achieving our core mission: providing local news and sports coverage you cannot find anywhere else.”
The listings will also be available online at jessaminejournal.com or subscribers can pick-up a photocopied version at the office each week.
Points to Know
1. Why make this change?
After evaluating our current TV book model, the listings were printed too small and they were not as up to date because our production scheduled required us to print too far in advance.
2. Where will I find the TV listings?
The primetime schedule for every day will be published in a consolidated page each week.
3. Are there other options to receive the TV listings?
Yes, you can visit our website (jessaminejournal.com) for the TV listings or you can stop by our office and we will have the listings printed out.
4. There are too many listings or my favorite channel is not listed.
Please contact the office at (859) 885-5381 and let us know, and we will try our best to get those channels added.
5. Why only produce the primetime?
In order to produce the listings in a larger font and format, we needed to choose the most watched time slot and we chose primetime.
