The Burke run March 14

The Officer Burke Rhoads Memorial 5.74K run, also known as “The Burke,” will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 14, at East Jessamine Middle School, 901 Union Mill Road, Nicholasville.

The Jessamine County Health Department announced that the Jessamine County Healthy and Safe Communities Mental Health Workgroup would support Sources of Strength Healthy Activities by promoting the second annual The Burke.

The event is in memory of Officer Burke Rhoads of the Nicholasville Police Department, and proceeds from the run will support community programs in Jessamine County.

Rhoads died in a three-vehicle accident in March 2015 in Garrard County while on his way to training in Richmond.
