Arza Marcus Byrd, 92

Arza Marcus Byrd, of Wilmore, age 92, passed to his heavenly home on Saturday, January 30, 2021.

The widower of Maxine Byrd who preceded him home in 2013. He was the son of the late Robert and Odra Byrd.

As a child he was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and recently attended Sulphur Well Christian Church. He was a mason, serving seven times as a master of Wilmore Lodge and presently a member of Hart Lodge #61. He was retired from IBM.

Survivors are his daughters and son in laws, Margaret and John Brock, Brenda and Barry Waldrop, and Barbara and Danny Smith, grandchildren, Jason Todd Brock, Christy (Brian) Crawford, Lindsay (Brian) Garrett, Eric (Tiffany) Smith, Ryan Marcus Smith, and Stefanie (Doug) Crosby, great-grandchildren, Tanner Ray Crawford, Jacob Kyle Garrett, and Oliviah and Sofia Crosby, and a brother, Calvin Byrd of Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Jerry Wayne Byrd and infant granddaughter, Lesley Anne Brock, nine siblings including, Lillian (Waldon) Pritchett of Nicholasville.

Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor John Sanders, and Bro. Tyson Cummings. officiating. Interment will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.

Grandsons will serve as bearers. Honorary bearers will be Kim and Eugene Marcum, Arnold and Denise Smith, Joey Duff, Becky Arvin, Cathy Floyd and Elizabeth Bruner and his many family and friends who he loved and who loved him.

Visitation will be 4-8 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home.
