Nicholasville Police Officer Recognized for Service to Community

Republican Party of Jessamine County recently recognized Nicholasville Police officer Adam Teater for his distinguished career.

An officer with the department for 18 years, Teater has served in multiple different capacities within the department.
He was a patrolman in his initial duties, moving to Bike Patrol then on to the Collision Reconstruction Team.

Teater has also served as a school Resource officer and currently assigned to the Community Services Division, where he educates Jessamine County’s youths about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.

He also was coordinator of the Special Response Team, providing lifesaving actions during emergencies. In those duties, he assisted in the apprehension of a person who was suspected of using an electronic device to procure a minor for sexual offenses. During that time, he sustained a career-ending injury. Although he was injured in the apprehension, he has maintained a great attitude and a desire to serve.

The lifelong resident of Jessamine County is an eighth-generation farmer.

Teater has volunteered in Jessamine County his entire adult life. He was a volunteer fireman in Jessamine County for 14 years, and made it to the rank of lieutenant. He also has volunteered with the Jessamine County 4-H program, serving in several roles, such as attending Jessamine County 4-H Camp for 15 years as a Counselor, Mentor, and Dean of Men.

He currently is president of the Jessamine County 4-H Counsel. Teater currently serves on the Jessamine County Health Department Agency for Substance Abuse Policy (ASAP). This organization works to improve community health through the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).

Teater also serves the community as a volunteer assistant coach with Jessamine County Fastpitch Softball, Jessamine County Youth Baseball and Warner Elementary Archery Team.
