Joyce Gayle Combs Cassity, 82

Joyce Gayle Combs Cassity, age 82, wife of William Neal Cassity, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021, at her home.

She was born in Jessamine County, Kentucky on December 16, 1938 to the late Elmo Talton Combs and Cleo Adams Combs. She was a homemaker, home builder and farmer. Joyce was a member of Bethany Christian Church, Bethany Christian Church CWF, Jessamine County Historical Society, Wilmore Lions Club, Jessamine County Antique Tractor Club, Jessamine County Library Building Committee, Jessamine County Beef Cattle Association, and Jessamine County Democratic Woman’s Club. She also enjoyed her time as an actor in the Paul Sawyer Dramas throughout the years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, William Mark Cassity (Gina), daughter, Amy Gayle Cassity, two grandchildren, Morgan Elizabeth Anness and William Dean Anness, great granddaughter, Addison Barnes, and two sisters, Ann Combs Peel (Jimmy) and Patricia Combs.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Barbara Schaars officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Bearers will be Dean Anness, Will Anness, Dan Combs, Sam Cassity, Brian Crawford and Duane McCuddy. Honorary Bearers will be Board Members of Bethany Christian Church.

Visitation will be 2-5:00 PM, Sunday, 4-8:00 PM, Monday and 11:00 AM until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
