Jessamine County Public Library

The Jessamine County Public Library is open to the public for browsing and is offering curbside pickup service, but did you know your library card also gives you access to stream movies, music and more from the comfort of your home?

The JCPL eLibrary is open 24/7. Check it out to find the perfect streamable and downloadable content for the days when you don’t want to leave the house. Here are a few services you’ll find included in the eLibrary:

• Hoopla Digital. Enjoy eBooks, comics, audiobooks, music and movies on your computer or mobile device. With Hoopla, items are always available for checkout. You’ll never have to wait on a holds list.

•Libby. From Kentucky Libraries Unbound, powered by OverDrive. Read eBooks and listen to audiobooks on this one-tap app. Kindle readers can send Kindle books to their devices using the Libby app.

•Freegal Music. Download up to five songs a week or stream an unlimited amount of music. Once you download a song, it’s yours to keep. Freegal offers access to about 15 million songs, including Sony Music’s catalog of legendary artists and over 40,000 music videos.

•Kanopy. Stream over 30,000 classic and indie movies and documentaries. Once you’re logged in, you’ll also find Kanopy Kids, which has videos of classic story books, popular series like Sesame Street, and more.

•RBdigita. Read magazines or stream Acorn TV, a video service with world-class mysteries, dramas and comedies from Britain and beyond.

We are happy to help you get started with any of these services! Visit our events calendar to schedule a one-to-one Zoom eLibrary Help session with a librarian. Or, you can call us at 885-3523 ext. 228, text us at (859) 538-5885 (standard messaging rates apply) or send an email to  informationservices@jesspublib.org to get eLibrary help.
