Dorothy Bernice Phillips will turn 74 years old on June 3, 2018, and will celebrate her 75th birthday a year early at noon on June 2, with a potluck at Edgewood Baptist Church, located at 717 S. Main St. The event is open to the public and family. Those who attend are asked to bring a dish and wish Phillips a happy birthday.

Phillips worked at Sargent and Greenleaf for 33 years, and also worked in the community as a beautician for 30 years. She is the daughter of Emmitt and Nellie Robertson. She is the mother of Annette Philips, 54; and Lisa Phillips, deceased.
