The Jessamine County Property Valuation website has a new look.

Brad Freeman, the Property Valuation Administrator, recently unveiled the agency’s new website.

The website is changing to stay relevant and be as up-to-date as possible.

The two-fold approach the website has is to inform the users about the functions and duties of the office, and to assist them within the website in searching property sales within Jessamine County, Freeman said.

“With technology changes, I felt like it was time to update part of the website, and overhaul the rest so we can keep Jessamine County on the cutting edge of enhanced technology,” Freeman said. “Also, the current website is not mobile-friendly, so that needed to be changed where users could access our website on the go.”

Redone features primarily include the overhaul of the search and sales engine. It will allow the user to view yearly sales, zoning information and many other features including allowing the user to view yearly sales on a map and measure structures and parcel lines, Freeman said.

Freeman said, with the constant changing of technology, the website will be in need of change as time goes by.

The new website design will debut March 1. The last time a revamp was done was in December 2009.

“At that time, I took the website from a fee-based website to providing it for free to our users. I am still providing this website, free of charge, for people to use.”

Freeman said he wants people to know that he wants to help.

“I know there is going to be a learning curve, especially when it comes to the search and mapping portion of the website,” Freeman said. “I want people to know my door is open anytime and I would be more than willing to sit down and help assist them with the new aspects of the website, or they can feel free to call me at the office.”

With technology in constant transformation, Freeman says he wants the website to stay current and as up-to-date as possible.

“My goal is to provide a website that this county and its users can be proud of,” Freeman said.
