Local arrested on weapons charges

Fifty-year-old Roger Bowlin of Nicholasville was taken into custody on Tuesday morning following a joint investigation by the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
According to Chief Deputy Allen Peel in a release from the Sheriff’s Office, Bowlin is being held on the charges of wanton endangerment in the first degree, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possessing/ distributing explosives without a permit.
The execution of a search warrant at Bowlin’s residence on Kissing Ridge Road by investigators and deputies of both agencies, as well as the Jessamine County Fire Department, yielded numerous firearms. Bowlin is currently housed in the Jessamine County Detention Center.
