On Tuesday, May 2, Jessamine County Judge Executive David West and the county’s magistrates learned about and toured the county’s new Emergency Medical Services medical ambulance bus. The bus has now been in operation for over 60 days.
The primary purpose of the bus is to transport mass casualties in the event of a transpiring tragedy in the county. The emergency vehicle also serves as an evacuation unit that can be launched into action if circumstances warrant the relocation of citizens quickly.
The bus and all medical furnishings were purchased with CSEPP (Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program) funds.
