Mark your calendars for the county-wide clean up starting on Saturday, March 29, and ending on Saturday, April 5.
The annual county-wide clean up is organized by the Jessamine County Fiscal Court and Environmental Services and offers residents free disposal of residential debris only, with specific restrictions on what cannot be brought in below.
During the week-long event, City of Nicholasville and Jessamine County Residents can bring debris to the Jessamine County Road Department at 400 Park Drive in Nicholasville. City of Wilmore Residents can bring debris to 305 West Linden St. in Wilmore. Hours for both sites will be Saturday, March 29 through Saturday, April 5 from 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM and closed on Sunday, March 30.
The types of debris accepted at the designated dumping sites must follow certain restrictions:
Absolutely no commercial debris such as shingles, dry wall, etc. Bricks, concrete block, and asphalt, wet paint, dirt, normal household waste such as daily trash and food garbage, storm brush and tires are also unacceptable items and will not be accepted.
In the past, Judge Executive David West has included old appliances and things you would get rid of during spring cleaning as examples of what can be brought to the dumping sites.
Because of safety reasons, there will be no curbside pickup.
Shingles, drywall, commercial debris and tires can be brought to the Jessamine County Convenience Center, 123 Hendren Way in Nicholasville. It is open from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and closed on Saturdays. Charges for these debris are the normal rate.
