Donaldson Company, a leading worldwide manufacturer of filtration systems and parts, received the Governor’s Safety and Health Award from the Kentucky Labor Cabinet for its Nicholasville plant’s safety and health performance. The plant’s 177 employees worked 668,907 consecutive hours without a lost time injury or illness.

On Wednesday, the Kentucky Labor Cabinet Deputy Secretary Mike Nemes presented the Governor’s Safety and Health Award to highlight outstanding safety and health performance in the state’s workplaces. 

“Congratulations to the Donaldson plant in Nicholasville on achieving their fourth Governor’s Health and Safety Award,” said Labor Cabinet Secretary Derrick Ramsey. “Working this many hours without a significant injury is a great accomplishment, and I appreciate their dedication to workplace safety. Our top priority at the Labor Cabinet is to help ensure Kentucky’s workers stay safe on the job, and I am pleased to recognize Donaldson for all of their hard work in helping achieve this goal.”

“Our hardworking team is honored to be acknowledged for our commitment to an incident-free workplace,” said Tony James, the manager of Donaldson’s Nicholasville plant. “At Donaldson, we believe that a safe workplace is both necessary and achievable, and our team continuously improves processes to reduce exposure to potential hazards. I thank and congratulate our employees on receiving this recognition for achieving and sustaining health and safety excellence.”

The Governor’s Safety and Health Award is given to businesses in the Commonwealth whose employees achieve a required number of hours worked without experiencing a lost time injury or illness. The required number of hours is dependent upon the number of employees. Donaldson’s Nicholasville plant has been awarded the honor in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2017.
