The Very Merry Christmas and More Show is coming to Asbury University on Friday, Dec. 8th at 7 p.m. at Hughes Auditorium on One Macklem Drive in Wilmore.

The tour features artists Jeremy Camp and NewSong.

This is the second time the Deliverance Productions group has brought a show to Asbury this year. In October, Corey Asbury performed.

“We wanted to kind of feed off of the revival that happened back in February. That was really a powerful movement, and we wanted to see if we could spark that kind of thing to happen again or just keep that fire burning there,” said Nathan Endris with Deliverance Productions

According to Endris, Camp has quite a powerful story.

“He started back in the early 2000s and there was a movie made about his life, ‘I Still Believe.’ It was based on a song that he wrote going through the trauma of his first wife dying of cancer. So he just has a really powerful testimony and a really powerful story to share,” he said, adding that Camp is one of the most successful Christian atists with over five million albums sold. “It’s a pretty high-caliber tour coming to Wilmore,” Endris said.

NewSong is also very successful and has been around for years. They host the Winter Jam Tour, which Edris says is the most extensive tour in the country, even among secular tours.

“It’s gonna be a great night of Christmas music and it’s a good family-friendly event in the community,” Endris said.

Tickets can be purchased at https://www.itickets.com/events/474771. Ticket prices are $32 now but go up $10 the day of the show. Asbury students get a discount rate of $24, but a college ID is required. More information is available at the link above.

The show is in need of some volunteers, as well. They will mostly help with the load-in process of sound and light equipment at 9 a.m. the day of the show. Edris said anyone 18 and older who is interested in volunteering can email him to sign up at Nathan.Endris@Live.com. The show is in need of around 40 volunteers.

Here are the areas the show still needs help with:

• 12 people for production load-in (10 a.m. to 12 p.m.)
• 12 people for merch/ticketing (4:45 p.m. to 10 p.m.)
• 12 people for production load-out (9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.)
• 4 people for cleanup (9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.)

A portion of the proceeds of this show will go towards a non-profit organization associated with the production company called Rising Hope Foundation. This organization provides long-term recovery to girls freed from human trafficking. More information on this organization can be found here: https://risinghopefoundation.org/.
