Ernestine Byers (74) of Nicholasville, passed away on November 26th, 2022. She was born in Wise County, Virginia on October 4, 1948. She was born into a humble family, in the midst of a coal mining community and grew up near Cincinnati, Ohio.
Later, she attended the University of Kentucky and continued to value education throughout her life. As a mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great grandmother she always encouraged her children and grandchildren to love learning. Ernestine spent her life faithful to Christ, dedicated to serving the Lord in worship, study, prayer, teaching bible classes, as a member of Fayette Church of Christ, and through missionary work in Moldova. She modeled for young women how to be sober minded, how to love their husband and children, how to be discreet, chaste, keepers of the home, to be good, faithful to their husbands, and servants to Christ. She enjoyed working with her hands through quilting, drapery, and horticulture. She quilted for the Quilts of Valor Foundation, donating quilts in honor of those who have served our country.
She was preceded in death by her parents William Conley and Martha Lou Simmons. She is survived by her loyal companion and husband Daniel Byers; sons Kevin (Jill) Byers, Jeffrey (Marie) Byers, and Michael (Amanda) Byers; grandchildren Doug (Megan) Byers, Cassie
(Jonathan) Foster, Chase (Rebecca) Byers, Alexandra (Benjamin) Byers Maddox, Heather (Austin) Nations, Evan Byers, Conley Byers, Mason Byers, and Benjamin Byers; great grandchildren Jacob, Joshua, Karter, Coralee, Luna, and Sallie; and sister and friend Bernardine Taylor.
