Wilmore releases 2022 recycling schedule

City of Wilmore recently released its recycling schedule for 2022. This schedule determines the days utilities will pick up the city’s recyclables.
Routes for recycling pickup are divided into sections, just like the garbage route. These sections are referred to as “Section A” and “Section B.”
Section A’s pickup dates are slated for:
- Jan. 3 and 31
- Feb. 14 and 28
- March 14 and 28
- April 11 and 25
- May 9 and 23
- June 6 and 20
- July 18
- Aug. 1, 15 and 29
- Sept. 12 and 26
- Oct. 10 and 24
- Nov. 7 and 21
- Dec. 5 and 19
Section B’s dates are set for:
- Jan. 10 and 24
- Feb. 7
- March 7 and 21
- April 4 and 18
- May 2 and 16
- June 13 and 27
- July 11 and 25
- Aug. 8 and 22
- Sept. 19
- Oct. 3, 17 and 31
- Nov. 14 and 28
- Dec. 12
The Jessamine County Recycling Center receives and processes the city’s recyclables. If the center is closed any reason, then Wilmore’s schedule is subject to change.
Holdays with garbage route changes or no recycling pickups include:
- New Year’s Day
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
- Presidents Day
- Memorial Day
- Fourth of July
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving and the following Friday
- Christmas Eve.
Alternative garbage collection days will be announced prior to each holiday via signage posted in neighborhoods, on Wilmore.org, the city’s Facebook page and other related social media.
