Only five days left until Nov. 8.

For some it’s a day out of school; for others it’s a chance to vote for someone they feel will make a difference in the lives of many. And don’t forget about the candidates who have worked so hard to ensure everyone in the community knows where they stand and what they plan to achieve if elected into a certain position. 

I personally would like to thank all those who have expressed their opinions through the letters to the editors. I would also like to thank all the candidates for sending in their responses for the Election Preview featured on pages A5 through A12.  

This was my first time doing an election preview. It was also my first time putting responses together in a Q and A format, so it was all just one big learning curve. 

As most of you have noticed, this issue was 24 pages long. This is the largest number of pages I have worked with since I started at the Journal, and let me tell you I am tired.

Some of the candidates’ questions and answers had to be left off in order to make room for everyone. But don’t worry, all the questions and answers will be featured on the Jessamine Journal website at https://www.jessaminejournal.com/. 

As some of you may have noticed, the Religion section is missing in this week’s issue. This is not permanent, we had to hold the section to make room for the election preview. The section will continue as normal next week. 

However, The Jessamine Journal’s new look is permanent.

I always thought the previous font size was far too tiny. I hope the larger font will make it easier for readers to see our content.
