Lancaster man arrested for heroin, resisting arrest

Jacob Sams, 28, of 151 Herrington Way in Lancaster, was arrested Oct. 31 for possession of a controlled substance (heroin) and resisting arrest, according to a citation released by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Officers made contact with Sams at the Five Star gas station on South Main Street. It was confirmed Sams had a warrant out for his arrest for fourth-degree assault out of Garrard County.

While placing Sams under arrest, he attempted to pull away from officers. A cigarette pack was located in his front left pant pocket containing .38 grams of suspected heroin.

Sams was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

Nicholasville man arrested for heroin, marijuana

Jerry Ray Parvin, 48, of 124 Lauren Drive in Nicholasville, was arrested Nov. 2 for DUI, possession of a controlled substance (heroin) and possession of marijuana, according to a citation released by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Officers were flagged down by a citizen who said they found Parvin slumped over the steering wheel at a gas pump at Speedway and he may be in need of help. Officers then observed Parvin operating the vehicle he was found in earlier and trying to pull out of the Speedway parking lot.

Once Parvin was stopped, he was described as having red eyes and slurred speech.

A field sobriety test was performed which Parvin failed. A search resulted in confiscation of suspected heroin located in his right front pocket  and a white round container containing suspected HTC, marijuana. Parvin admitted both items were his, according to the citation.

Parvin was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center.

Danville man arrested for DUI

Casey Ryan Thomas, 34, of 195 Old Bridge Road in Danville, was arrested Nov. 3 for DUI, according to a citation released by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Officers were in the area of the Jessamine County Public Library when they noticed a green Chevy truck was the only vehicle around parked behind the building. The vehicle was running and the keys were in the ignition, according to the citation.

Officers made contact with Thomas, who allegedly appeared to be asleep.

Upon waking Thomas, he was described as having bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady on hisfeet. Thomas was asked to complete a field sobriety test, which he failed.

Thomas was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

Lexington man arrested for DUI

Jason D. Hill, 38, of 272 Osage Court in Lexington, was arrested Nov. 2 for DUI, no registration plates and possession of an open alcoholic container in a motor vehicle, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Hill was stopped for no registration and was found to have an open warrant for his arrest. Hill was described as having red glossy eyes and slurred speech.

Hill allegedly told officers he had consummed one beer prior to being stopped. A preliminary breath test result showed .099. Officers allegedly located several empty alcoholic containers in the vehicle.

Hill was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

Nicholasville man arrested for DUI

Ryan R. Neff, 30, of 310 E. Oak St. in Nicholasville was arrested Oct. 29 for DUI, according to a citation released by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Officers were called to Five Star in reference to a subject passed out in a red car. The subject was awakened by staff and allegedly drove off, according to the citation.

Officers attempted to locate the vehicle, which was eventually found pulling into the Circle K parking lot.

Vomit was observed on the driver side door and on the ground outside the door.

Neff was described as having slurred speech. When asked if he had anything to drink, he allegedly told officers he had two beers at a friend’s house prior to driving and was headed home.

A field sobriety test was performed, which Neff failed. He was asked to submit to a preliminary breath test, but refused stating he was tired and wanted to get home.

After placing Hill under arrest, officers located three bottles of Heaven Hill vodka under the drivers seat of the vehicle.

Neff was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.
