Mt. Sterling man arrested for methampheatamine

Jason D. Jointer, 34, of 411 Scott St. in Mt. Sterling, was arrested Oct. 18 for criminal possession of a forged instrument and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to First Southern National Bank in reference to a subject possibly trying to pass a forged check. Jointer was flagged in the bank’s computer for forged checks and upon speaking with the teller officers were able to confirm that the checks were forged. The check was from Red Barn and Associates in the amount of $2,300 and dated Oct. 17.

Upon searching Jointer, he advised officers that he had drugs in his wallet, according to the citation. Officers then located suspected methamphetamine in a small clear plastic bag inside Jointer’s wallet.

Jointer was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation. 

Nicholasville man arrested for assault

Daniel H. Shepherd, 46, of 111 Keenesway Lane in Nicholasville, was arrested Oct. 15 for fourth-degree assault, according to a citation issued by the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a call of domestic violence and were informed upon entry that Shepherd intentionally pushed his step-daughter onto the bed resulting in her allegedly falling to the floor.

Shepherd then intentionally pulled his step-daughter by the hair causing her physical injury and pain, according to the citation.

The victim stated she felt pain moments after the incident and while deputies were on the scene. The incident was also witnessed by two subjects.

Shepherd was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

Stanford man arrested for DUI

Mark A. Henson, 48, of 212 S. Loop Drive in Stanford, was arrested Oct. 19 for reckless driving and DUI, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to Danville Road to attempt to locate a Corvette that had been observed driving on the wrong side of the road. The officers witnessed the vehicle in question cross the fog line twice and weave into the left lane and back, according to the citation. Officers initiated a traffic stop and allegedly observed an open case of Coors light in the passenger seat.

Henson told officers he had two or three drinks earlier at a restaurant and agreed to take a preliminary breath test, which allegedly showed a presence of alcohol.

Henson was described as having blood shot eyes, slurred speech and being unsteady on his feet almost falling into the road way before officers could stop him.

A field sobriety test was performed which showed six clues of intoxication. While at the Jessamine County Detention Center, Henson agreed to take an intoxilyzer test where he blew .235, according to the citation.

Nicholasville woman arrested for assault

Brandy Stumbo, 33, of 219 Maple Leaf Lane in Nicholasville, was arrested Oct. 21 for fourth-degree assault, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Officers were dispatched in reference to a physical domestic that had just occurred. Once officers arrived and made contact with the victim, they were advised that Stumbo had slapped the victim in the face with a brick leaving a red mark on the right side of the victim’s face. The victim’s left wrist also had swelling, according to the citation.

Stumbo had left the residence before officers arrived but showed back up 20 minutes later and allegedly was intoxicated and irate. Stumbo would not answer questions about the earlier incident.

She was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

Harrodsburg man arrested for DUI

Justin Jacobs, 30, of 1482 Battlefield Road in Harrodsburg, was arrested Oct. 18 for DUI, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Officers observed Jacobs behind the wheel of a vehicle at the stop sign located on Catnip Hill and Computrex Drive bent over the wheel. As officers approached the vehicle, Jacobs had to be told to put his vehicle in park and turn off the engine.

Jacobs was described as having slurred speech and red glossy eyes, according to the citation. Jacobs admitted to allegedly taking Xanax.

A field sobriety test was requested, which Jacobs agreed to perform. The test had to be terminated because of Jacob’s inability to stand. Jacobs was transported to St. Joseph Jessamine for a blood test, and then transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.

Nicholasville man arrested for DUI

Jose L. Gonzales, 35, of 110 Jessamine Ave. in Nicholasville, was arrested Oct. 14 for DUI, leaving the scene of an accident with failure to render aid or assistance, no operators moped license and failure of operator to maintain required insurance, according to a citation issued by the Nicholasville Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to North Main Street in reference to a careless driving complaint. Officers allegedly observed the vehicle parked in the Family Dollar parking lot. The vehicle was unoccupied, and the hood of the vehicle was warm to the touch.

Officers went inside the store and made contact with Gonzales who was described as allegedly having blood shot eyes, slurred speech and being unsteady on his feet. A field sobriety test was performed which Gonszales allegedly failed, according to the citation.

Gonzales was placed under arrest for DUI and allegedly told officers he had six beers a few minutes ago and had just got out of his vehicle two minutes before. He also told officers he did not have a driver’s license, was unable to provide insurance and was in an accident where he left the scene and failed to render aid.

Gonzales was arrested and transported to the Jessamine County Detention Center, according to the citation.
