Planet Fitness coming to Nicholasville in 2025

Planet Fitness is expanding into Jessamine County, with a new location expected to open in late 2025.

The gym will be located at 1021 North Main Street in Nicholasville, marking the 11th Planet Fitness club in the greater Lexington area, according to a company news release.

“Adding to our Lexington family of clubs with a Nicholasville location has been a goal of ours for a very long time,” said Mark Nelson, deputy CEO of Glow Brands. “Nicholasville’s continued growth and enthusiasm for fitness makes it the perfect place for us to grow. Planet Fitness is the leader in high-value fitness, and we are thrilled to bring the Judgement Free Zone to our friends in Jessamine County. We can assure everyone, regardless of their fitness level, will love being a part of our Planet.”

The facility will feature a wide range of fitness amenities, including more than 80 pieces of cardio equipment, strength machines, free weights, a functional training room, and a HIIT zone with air bikes and rowers. Additional features include a stretching and mobility area, free fitness training with all memberships, and a Black Card Spa for eligible members. Free Wi-Fi and access to the Planet Fitness mobile app will also be available.

The Nicholasville club is expected to create 8 to 10 full-time positions and 16 to 20 part-time jobs.
