Mary Sue Thompson, 69, of Lancaster, died Thursday, April 17, 2025. She was born in Mt. Vernon, KY on September 12, 1955 to John William and Anna Caroline McClure Smith.
She is survived by her son, Chris Carmichael and fiancé Stacie Byrns; her granddaughter, Jocelyn Carmichael; two brothers: Terry Smith of Lexington and Wayne Smith of Nicholasville; and two sisters: Joyce Lauderman of Florence, and Jean Herbert of Lexington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Smith; and a sister, Helen Price.
Graveside services were Tuesday, April 22 in the Smith Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
