Gary W. Nickel

Mr. Gary W. Nickel went to be with Jesus on March 27, 2025. Mr. Nickel was born on December 15, 1938 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He is preceded in death by his father, Earl S. Nickel, his mother, Ada M. Nickel, his brother, Ron Nickel, and his twin brother, Larry Nickel. Gary is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dona L. Nickel, his three sons, Mike (Susan), Brian (Stephanie), Kevin (Kathy), and his adopted son since 1985, Rob (Gail) Voorhees. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one on the way. Gary’s passion, without hesitancy, was living for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He loved spending time with his family and attending family gatherings. Building furniture, woodworking, helping people, volunteering, and missions are just a few of his other passions. Mr. Nickel attended First Assembly of God, Southland Christian and most recently, Church of the Savior. Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at Church of the Savior, 1301 Brannon Road, Nicholasville, KY 40356, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. A private burial ceremony will be held for the immediate family. Flowers are to be delivered to Church of the Savior between 9:00-10:00 a.m. on April 1st.
