Jessamine County is home to multiple wineries. The most recent addition is Ghost Fox Winery, opened in late 2023 by Mallory and Josh Morris. The winery, located at 2385 Chrisman Mill Road in Nicholasville, already has several events planned for 2025, including several in March.
Sourdough & Wine Pairing
Wednesday, March 26, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Located at the winery.
$20 per person
According to Ghost Fox Winery, this event offers a self-guided tasting, flavor insights from the winery’s winemaker and bread maker, and “a chance to explore the art of pairing bread and wine.” Attendees can try pairings of Rabbithole Farm sourdough and Ghost Fox’s award-winning wine.
Read Between the Wines
Wednesday, March 26, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Located at the winery
No fee for entry
On the last Wednesday of every month, Ghost Fox holds this event, which is one part silent reading and two parts social hour.
Ghost Fox Winery encourages folks to come around 6 for social time, a cozy spot, and time to purchase snacks and drinks.
At 7 p.m., there will be silent reading for 30 minutes, followed by more social time to finish the event. You can read a book available at Ghost Fox or bring your own.
Barrel tasting for the springs
Saturday, March 29, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Located at McConnell Springs, 416 Rebmann Lane, Lexington, 40504.
$25 per person, tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.com/e/barrel-tasting-for-the-springs-tickets-1237828982809?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=listing&utm-source=wsa&aff=ebdsshwebmobile
Lexington’s McConnell Springs will be hosting its 28th wine barrel tasting event for Lexington’s 250th year with 14 participating wineries. “At wineries that produce their wine on-site, you can have a tasting of their latest from the barrel. At wineries that produce off-site, you will be sampling from bottles. Each winery has its own way of being part of our event, so you will want to plan your route and try as many as you can,” read the McConnell Springs website. Ghost Fox Winery will be serving its wine here. Jessamine County’s 1922 House Vineyards and Winery and First Vineyard Winery will also serve at this event.
Live Music: Garrick Howell
Saturday, March 29, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

After the Barrel Tasting, Garrick Howell will be performing at McConnell Springs.
