Jessamine County grocery sold winning lottery ticket

A lucky lottery participant who purchased a Powerball ticket in Nicholasville, Kentucky, is now tens of thousands of dollars wealthier. 

The Powerball drawing held Wednesday, Feb. 5 produced a winning $50,000 ticket, according to the Kentucky Lottery. 

The ticket was purchased at Kroger, 170 Bellerive Blvd., on Harrodsburg Road in Nicholasville.

The winning Powerball numbers announced Wednesday were 19, 27, 30, 50, 62 and Powerball 14. According to a press release from the Kentucky Lottery, the winning ticket matched four white ball winning numbers and the Powerball®, winning $50,000. 

Winners of the Kentucky Lottery must claim their prizes at lottery headquarters at 1011 W. Main St. in Louisville. First, winners should contact the lottery at 1-877-789-4532 to make an appointment to claim their prize.

The Kentucky Lottery advises winners to: sign the back of their tickets, keep them in a secure location, and claim their prize within 180 days from the date of the drawing. 

There was no winner of the Powerball jackpot, currently estimated at $133 million. The next drawing will take place at 11 p.m. EST on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025.
