First Vineyard Winery 12th Annual Christmas in the Country Craft Fair – Saturday, Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Nicholasville’s First Vineyard Winery, located at 5800 Sugar Creek Pike, will be hosting its 12th annual Christmas in the Country Craft Fair. This event is free and open to the public. 50+ vendors will be selling handmade merchandise from local artists with “reasonable prices,” food and drink for sale, and plenty of wine for sale with plenty of parking and a heated pavilion. Come “sip and shop,” and support local businesses by buying holiday gifts for loved ones, or for yourself, at this event.
Shop Small Business Week in Wilmore – Saturday, Nov. 30 – Saturday, Dec. 7
The city of Wilmore is participating in the 15th annual Shop Small Business Saturday Sponsored by American Express, starting on Saturday, Nov. 30 and ending on Saturday, December 7. 20 small businesses in Downtown Wilmore on East Main Street will take part in this event, and can be identified by posters, balloons, door mats, and banners promoting Shop Small. Shoppers will receive unique tote bags when they shop at the participating businesses, and can register for one of four $30 gift certificates to be given away the following week.
According to American Express, 67 cents of every dollar spent at a US small business remains in that community. This event is sponsored by the Wilmore Community Development Board.

Electoral College Discussion Featuring two Central Kentucky Experts – Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m.
Asbury University will be hosting Professor of History at EKU, Caroyln R. Dupont, who specializes in African American History and American Religious history, and Associate Professor of Political Science at UK, Stephen Voss, whose work focuses on cultural politics, and elections in terms of voting behavior and electoral rules. The discussion is titled “A Ticking Time Bomb”: The Electoral College in U.S. Presidential Selection. The event will be held at Asbury’s Luce Auditorium on West Main Street in Wilmore. The event is sponsored by Asbury University Joe Pitts Center for Public Policy. This event is free and open to the public.
Meet and Greet with Brigadier General Robert L Givens – Thursday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m.
This free-of-charge event at the Wilmore Municipal Center on 210 S. Lexington Avenue will be a meet and greet with retired Air Force Fighter Pilot BG Robert Givens. General Givens retired as Inspector General of The United States Air Force. He has also flown the right wing of The Air Force Precision Flying Team, The Thunderbirds. Retired BG Givens is a Kentucky Native and currently state director for Senator Rand Paul.
Jessamine County Fiscal Court Christmas Tree Lighting – Friday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m.
The Jessamine County Fiscal Court will be holding its annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony on the court house lawn. In addition to the ceremony, visitors can get pictures with Santa, refreshments, and access a mailbox to the North Pole. Those who can’t be in person but still want to view the lighting can see it via livestream on https://www.facebook.com/JessamineCountyKY.
KCAL Gospel Showcase – December 6 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Once again, KCAL will be hosting its gospel showcase at Jessamine Christian Church at 130 Courchelle Drive in Nicholasville. Admission to the event is free, but donations will be accepted during the show to benefit the Jessamine County Schools Homeless Education Program. In years past, this money has been used by Family Resource Centers in schools throughout the county to pay for students’ classroom materials, warm clothes, and even to replace a tire in a car a student lived in, and used to get to school.
Performers will include the Moron Brothers, Faith Combs, Casondra Radford, Mario J. Radford, The Diggles Family, Adam Higgenbotham, Two For The Cross, Nero’s Fiddle, Roger Garrison, Brothers Edge, Billy Holland, Gwen Henson, and Bennie Rainwater.
