Ann Jeannette Ehinger Galvin, previously of Versailles, KY, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 29 at Sayre Christian Village in Lexington. She was 92 years old.
Mrs. Galvin was born October 3, 1931, in Lenawee County (Adrian), Michigan. In addition to a long career as a schoolteacher and librarian / media specialist in Michigan, West Virginia and Lexington, Kentucky, she was a master gardener, a community volunteer and docent, while raising four children and managing her family home in multiple locations due to career moves from Michigan, Indiana, New Jersey, West Virginia, and Kentucky. She also served in several roles as an active member of numerous churches in her lifetime, most recently Versailles Presbyterian Church since locating there in 2012.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 66 years, Jack Galvin; a brother C. Richard Ehinger (Dorothy); her parents, Charles “Chod” and Ruth Loveland Ehinger. She is survived by a brother, Robert W. Ehinger (Lorena); sister-in-law Anne O’Heren Jakob; sons Patrick (Lisa), Michael (Becky) and Joseph (Lisa); a daughter Amy Galvin Hampton (Granville); her grandchildren Charles (Natalie), John Robert (Shelby), Jennifer Hampton Bowman(Brad), Carolyn Hampton, Hope Cruz Noe (Warren), John Michael Cruz; and great-grandchildren Lydia, Liam, Delaney, John Robert Jr. (“Jack”), and Loyatte Grace Noe; 7 nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins.
Memorial Service arrangements to be held at Versailles Presbyterian Church June 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM, and are being coordinated with Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home in Versailles. Private burial will be later in Michigan. In lieu of flowers, we ask that memorial donations may be made to Versailles Presbyterian Church, 130 N Main St, Versailles, KY 40383.
