Justin Martin, 51, went home to be with Jesus on March 22, 2024 in Richmond, Ky. after suffering a heart attack. Born at Kincheloe Air Force Base in Kinross, Michigan, he was the firstborn of Dwight and Sandy Martin, Nicholasville, Ky. As a boy, Justin was a great competitor in sports, an all-star in basketball and baseball. He played hard…he always wanted to please his coach. And he “bled blue” – loving his Kentucky Wildcats. He lived in Madison Tower Apartments, and many people that lived there were on Social Security and/or disability. Justin had a giving heart, sharing extra food that he and Brandie could spare. He also loved to share fresh vegetables that his mom would give him. He had compassion for the elderly and disabled and would pray for them. He loved the Lord, and the people in that 10-story building knew it. We thank God for his precious life and the privilege to be his mom and dad. He failed at times, but his greatest desire was to please his Lord. He loved talking about Jesus. When I would drive to Richmond to pick him and Brandie up for one of our delicious birthday dinners, we would start talking about Jesus and the goodness of God while driving down Interstate-75. And Justin would always say: “Dad, I’ve got goosebumps all over me” and tears would fill his face. Those were some of the most precious memories of my time with my son. He was full of passion for the Lord. Justin belonged to Jesus….and Jesus belonged to him. He was a member of Living Hope Ministries. He loved his pastor and his church family. Besides his parents, Justin is survived by his wife, Brandie Sue Jackson Martin, Richmond; his brother, Jason Martin, Lexington; his sister, Jessy Couch and her husband, Jenio, Nicholasville; two nephews, Morgan Christian Couch and Jakob Riley Couch; two nieces, Vrekiah Martin and Valecia Martin; one aunt and four uncles. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Joni Martin and Jenny Martin; paternal grandparents, Howard and Mildred Martin; maternal grandparents, Vincent and Jackie Rappette. A celebration of his life was held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at East Hickman Baptist Church, Lexington. www.greatcrossingfuneral.com
