Thomas Edward “Eddie” Clements went to his Heavenly Homecoming on the morning of November 25, 2023. He was born in Lexington, KY on October 13, 1959 and was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Betty Clements and a nephew, Benjamin Sanders.
Eddie had a gentle spirit. He leaves with us his legacy of love for art, history, nature, kayaking, flying kites, and his talent for woodworking. One of his greatest joys was serving his community in many ways, including the Jessamine County Quilt Trail, assisting with restorations at Camp Nelson, Paint-the-Town Banners, developing the Art Depository, and being the sound-effects master for the local KCAL Old Time Radio Shows, among many other community projects.
Eddie’s love for the Lord was founded in Exodus 14:14, “The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still.” He had a strong faith and unique ability to find beauty and grace in others. Eddie led a life worth celebrating and left the world better than he found it.
He held his family close to his heart and is survived by his wife of 35 years, Susan Grier Clements, son Josiah Clements (Haley Barnes), his four siblings Katie Clark, Sally Clements, Pam Smith, and David Clements (Nancy), four sisters-in-law Laura Sanders, Cynthia Sosbe, Pam Blackburn (Steve), and DeDe Shirley (Greg), along with six nieces and ten nephews.
Eddie’s Heavenly Homecoming will be held at Jessamine Christian Church in Nicholasville, KY on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent to Breathe Life of WNY, Inc. (www.blwny.org) or the Primate Rescue Center, Inc. (www.primaterescue.org).
