The Jessamine County Public Library (JCPL) is celebrating the expansion of a new creative space with a grand opening event on Sunday, Oct. 15, from 2-4 p.m.

JCPL’s Creative Space is a collaborative workspace, outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment: four MK4 printers, one 3D Printer, two laser cutters, two routers, a UV printer, two quilting machines, and a jeweler’s station with a wide variety of hand tools.

“We are thrilled that this space provides the community with cutting-edge, new equipment in a collaborative, innovative environment,” customer technology librarian Shantel Richardson said. “We can’t wait to teach classes on this new equipment and interact with other creative minds within this space.”   ,

During the grand opening, patrons will take an interactive, self-guided tour to learn more about the pieces and equipment that most fascinate them. Library staff will be on hand with live demonstrations. Patrons will also be able to take their Intro to CS Training and get registered for small-group sessions on the spot.
