Patricia Michalene Sears Hager, 87, entered her final resting place on June 10th, 2023. We believe she is dancing with angels. She was a beloved wife, mother, friend, and the best Nene to many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Patricia was the recent widow of Bennie D Hager.

Pat was born in Ohio on October 2nd, 1935, lived many places and finally settled in Nicholasville, Kentucky, where she was known for her “love of life”.

Pat was the daughter of the late “Chef” Cornelius Sears (Evalene) and Hattie Watson (Bob). She was the wife of Bennie D. Hager and they shared 68 years together before his passing in August, 2022. They had two daughters, Elizabeth Kennedy, and Connie Smith (Harold). Pat was a grandmother (NeNe) to Christopher Corman, Richard Kennedy, Mark Corman (Wendy), Rachel Kennedy, Sarah Kennedy (Justin), Jacob Banks, Rebecca Graziano (Sam) and Stephen Smith (Kelsey). She also got to love and enjoy several great grandchildren, Hailey, Kaitlyn, Elliana, Madelyn, Anna, and Wesley.

Pat was preceded in death by a brother, Lyall Sears, and her dearest friend, Barbara Estepp.

She enjoyed playing cards, painting, watching movies, collecting treasures, cooking for family and friends, and trying new restaurants. She contributed to her community as a PTA volunteer, ESL friend and volunteer to several Bosnian refugee families, and was instrumental in getting a safety signal installed at the Brannon Road railroad crossing after the tragic death of a friend. She was honored to be named one of the Central Kentucky Volunteers of the Year.

Pat was a Christian who loved all, judged none, and tried to share a funny story wherever she went. She was a member of Jessamine Christian Church.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice Bluegrass Care Navigators and also to Visiting Angels for their outstanding care and devotion.

Services will be at Betts and West Funeral home in Nicholasville on Saturday, June 17, 2023, with visitation beginning at 11:00 and service at 1:00PM.
