The Jessamine County Fiscal Court met on Tuesday, May 30, and approved several items, including a pay raise for special poll workers, improvements to a county road, a new Jessamine County Public Library Board Member and the next phase of the John Preece Park project.
The Fiscal Court previously approved raises for the Election Day poll workers but left out early voting absentee poll workers. The magistrates approved retroactive raises for the workers.
To repair Old Railroad Road, the Fiscal Court approved a bid of $80,900 for its repair. Judge-Executive David West said that $53,850 of that amount will be paid with discretionary funds.
Due to a Jessamine County Public Library Board member moving away, the board has recommended the Fiscal Court approve the appointment of Andy Sims to the board, which it did.
The first phase of construction for the football complex at Preece Park is complete, and the turf is installed and ready. Phase two of the complex will soon begin and will include the construction of the bleachers and concession stands.
The next Fiscal Court meeting is next week on June 8, 2023, at 4 p.m. at the Jessamine County Courthouse on Main Street.
