News Release
The Jessamine County Democratic Party (JCDP) kicked off its campaign season on Tuesday.
The meeting saw local Democrats hear from gubernatorial candidate Geoff Young, State Treasurer candidate Michael Bowman, and Commissioner of Agriculture candidate Mikael Malone.
In April, JCDP will host gubernatorial candidate Peppy Martin, and in May, the party will host additional candidates. Event details will be announced at a later date. Anyone interested in attending is welcome.
Monthly meetings are 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month, starting in April. The location will be Nicholasville Police Department. All JCDP meetings are open to the public. Only JCDP Executive Committee members are allowed to vote on business issues; however, input from all Jessamine County Democrats is welcome and encouraged.
Before the election in November, the party is planning two special events.
On Sep. 22, 2023, there will be a rally for all Democratic candidates. The Annual Chili Supper is in October. Locations and times will be announced at a later date. Throughout the year, this is an exciting event to raise money for local and statewide candidates. With this being a gubernatorial election year, Governor Beasher has been invited to attend the chili supper.
