Toyota on Nicholasville was presented with the prestigious President’s Board of Governors Award from Toyota Motor North America (TMNA), Inc on Tuesday, November 8. 

TMNA gives out The Board of Governors award each year to a selected group of Toyota Dealerships around the United States for sales success and dedication to customer satisfaction. Previously, the dealership has won Toyota’s President’s Award 21 times. 

 In order to be honored through this award, a dealership must be among the top 60 in sales for non-fleet vehicles- which are cars and trucks bought by government agencies, businesses, or organizations. Eligible dealerships must also meet other criteria for consideration, like operating for the entire year. 

“Toyota on Nicholasville is very proud to receive the President’s Award for 2021, as we always strive to put the customer first. This award is very hard to achieve and requires all-around excellence in our day-to-day operations. This is Toyota’s most prestigious award,” said Dave Conley, General Manager for Toyota on Nicholasville.

Toyota was founded in 1957 and currently has 1,800 dealerships in the state, with 22 of those residing in Kentucky. Toyota’s manufacturing plants alone employ more than 48,000 people in the U.S. 

But, it wasn’t until 1986 that the company came to Kentucky. Georgetown is home to one of 13 Toyota manufacturing plants with 8,000 manufacturing workers.
