When Jessamine County Sheriff Kevin Corman passed away in late May the Kentucky State Police indicated that the cause of death was natural causes, and now the preliminary reports from the coroner’s office show that still may be the case.
The Jessamine County Coroner’s Office told the Journal that it is still waiting for the final autopsy reports to come in, which will include a toxicology report.
The 64-year-old Corman had held the office since 2006 and was replaced on an interim basis by Anthony Purcell after his passing. Nicholasville Police Sgt. Kevin Grimes, who defeated Corman in the Republican primary election last month, will become sheriff in January 2023.
The Journal will have more on the final autopsy report when it becomes available.
