The search for the parents of a lost child resulted in charges being filed Saturday in Nicholasville according to media reports.
At 6:37 p.m. on Saturday the Nicholasville Police Department posted the following to its Facebook page: “We are attempting to locate the parents or determine the identity of the child in this photo. It appears that someone left him at a business in Nicholasville approx. 1 hour ago. His first name may be Gary, we are unable to advise any additional information on his identity at this time.”
The post was updated later in the evening to reveal that the boy’s parents were located and as the investigation continued that charges were likely coming.
According to a story published by the Lexington Herald-Leader, Nicholasville police cited the boy’s mother once she was located and his father was arrested and taken to the Jessamine County Detention Center. Neither the boy or his parents were identified in the story. The Journal has yet to independently verify the Herald-Leader’s report.
This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
