The Kentucky League of Cities presented the city of Wilmore with a 2022 Safety Grant last week.
The Kentucky League of Cities members receive funds to help various programs and services that make the community safer and reduce liability. The KLC has been awarding liability and safety grants since 1999 and has awarded more than $5.5 million in these grants.
“I’m grateful for a working relationship with the Kentucky League of Cities,” Harold Rainwater, the Mayor of Wilmore said. “I’m thankful to be able to obtain this grant to make work safer for our employees”.
Representatives of Wilmore thanked KLC, and the grant will be used to purchase confined space safety equipment, and lift-assist stretchers and chairs.
“We are grateful that we have the opportunity to help our members fund important safety initiatives,” KLC Executive Director J.D. Chaney said. “The safety equipment the City of Wilmore plans to purchase is vital to the health and safety of the people who work for the city and serve the community”.
The Kentucky League of Cities offers employee benefits programs, legislative advocacy, financial and municipal law services, community development, and other resources that serve cities.
