Nicholasville Police are investigating the shooting death of a woman at a Nicholasville residence with the suspect being considered armed and dangerous still at large.

Wednesday morning (Jan. 5), police were sent to 100 Lauren Drive in reference to a possible death investigation. A family member advised that a woman was found dead in the residence. Police have not released the woman’s name to the media.

Officers then contacted the Criminal Investigations Division to process the crime scene and determine if there was foul play. Through investigation it was determined that the woman had been shot.

NPD detectives have obtained arrest warrants for Kenneth Strange, 54, who resides at the aforementioned 100 Lauren Drive location. He is being charged murder and tampering with physical evidence.

Police said Strange is currently on the run and he should be considered armed and dangerous. Authorities are working with several jurisdictions across the Commonwealth in an attempt to locate him.
