Jessamine county held Christmas tree lighting events in Nicholasville and Wilmore Friday and Saturday, respectively.
Judge Executive David West made an appearance on the main streets of both cities to help kick off the events. Nicholasville attendees had the chance to take free pictures with Santa, drink hot chocolate, eat cookies and enjoy Holiday music through the street speakers.
Wilmore’s event lasted all day, starting with a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. Stores and vendors throughout the day offered Christmas crafts and Holiday discounts. The tree was lit at 5:30 p.m., with attendees afterward enjoying live music and participating in caroling until the event ended after 8 p.m.
