The Jessamine County school district recognized the sacrifices of veterans in many ways during this year’s Veteran’s Day.
Members of the East Jessamine High School and West Jessamine High School bands collaborated on a special, patriotic performance at Camp Nelson Cemetery. Bands were directed by Ben Lay and Patrick Howell of West and East Jessamine high schools respectively.
Younger students in the community, meanwhile, wrote letters thanking veterans, put together a mural of the American Flag, and even produced a video tribute. The tribute video was produced by East Jessamine Middle School and is viewable on Youtube at youtube.com/watch?v=4Qdqzh-psl4, or by searching “Veterans Day from EJMS” in the Youtube search bar.
