Covid and flu vaccinations, blood pressure checks, blood glucose checks and food were given out at Med-Save Pharmacy in Nicholasville free of charge Friday afternoon.
The event – “Health and RX Check-Up Day” – was a collaboration between Med-Save Pharmacy, Lifeline Home Health Care and the Cattleman’s Association, with a goal of promoting a healthier community.
“As a small, locally-owned business, we’re always looking for ways to give back to the community,” said Dr. Fei Xiong, pharmacist-in-charge for Med-Save. “We do events such as this one pretty frequently. In the summer, we gave out free life jackets as part of a water safety informational event with the Nicholasville Fire Department. We also did a bike safety event in Wilmore were we gave out free bike helmets.”
Med-Save Pharmacy provided multivitamins and informational packets during the event. Lifeline staff was on hand to conduct blood checks and administer vaccinations, while the Cattleman’s Association grilled burgers and hotdogs for attendees.
Med-Save Pharmacy has two locations: 1025 North Main Street in Nicholasville and 201 East Main Street in Wilmore.
