William Quinn Muir, 91, passed away, Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at his home in Jessamine County. He was born on Jan. 19, 1930, at the old Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, the loving son of Edmund Amann Muir and Zorada Quinn Muir.

He was brought home to Muir Meadow Farm, left to both he and his sister by his grandfather Henry C. Muir, and where he lived his 91 years. He was a graduate of the University High School, Lexington, University of Kentucky AG, veteran of U.S. Air Force, farmed raising thoroughbred horses, cattle, crops and was a retired director of the Farmers Bank of Jessamine County, member of the Thoroughbred Club of America, Keenland Club, The U High Men’s Lunch Bunch, The Christian Church, Kappa Alpha Order, and the Wildcat Investors.

Bill enjoyed life from playing marbles at Red Oak and loafing in Nicholasville to playing baseball, croquet, racing horses, and golf later on. Any sport to watch was great as was his pickup truck and dogs. Bill was the proud father of son Lige (Pam), daughters, Kate, and Ann Bryant. In addition to his wife of 62 years Adeline Whaley Muir, he is survived by his son, James E. “Lige” and his wife Pam Carrico, granddaughters, Laura Muir, and Rachel Muir, two daughters, “Kate” Katherine Q. Muir Zweigart, Maysville, Kentucky and granddaughter, “Liz” A. Zweigart and daughter, Ann Bryant Muir.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Betty Amann Muir Coleman and her husband, Ben, and her children, Amann Muir Coleman and Phyllis Coleman Little Tinchner.

Services will be 1 p.m., Monday, June 21, 2021, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Dr. Harold Custer officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m., Sunday and 12-1 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Online guestbook at www. BettsandWestfuneralhome.com.
