It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Chamber of Commerce.

The office at 116 S. Main St. is aglow with colorful lighted trees that will be auctioned online to raise money for Habitat for Humanity of Jessamine and Garrard Counties and the home the group is building in Nicholasville.

Visitors may see the trees between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the office, on the chamber’s web page at jessaminechamber.org or on their Facebook page.

The 19 trees were designed by local businesses and other chamber members.

Among them are “Candyland” by the Jessamine County Board of Education.

“It’s wonderful,” Chamber Director Ronda May said in a video on the chamber’s Facebook page. “It shows all the school spirit. There’s probably 15 T-shirts and sweatshirts, water bottles, lanyards. It represents every school in Jessamine County.”

Kentucky Christmas has a Big Blue basketball theme and comes with a basketball signed by UK men’s coach John Calipari.

Kentucky Bank’s “Cash Tree” has $100 worth of bills.

“Santa’s Workshop” is decorated with tools and comes with $100 worth of Lowe’s gift cards.

“Jack Frost” is a snowman tree with an “O Baby It’s Cold Outside” message.

Others are “Rock Around the Clock,” “Let It Snow,” “Merry Little Christmas” and more.

“They’re all very unique,” May said.

May said the chamber has gotten many bids already. All the bidding this year will be done online, and if a potential buyer gets outbid, they will receive an email notifying them of it so they can bid higher if they want. Bidding will end Dec. 11 at 10 a.m.

“We’re moving right along, and we’re really excited,” she said.

This is the second year for the Christmas Tree Trail. Last year it benefited the Jessamine County Schools program for educating homeless students, and this year the local Habitat affiliate will be the only beneficiary.
