A Nicholasville man is facing between 42 and 75 years in an Illinois prison after pleading guilty to robbing and sexually assaulting a college student in 2019.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, 36-year-old Justin Dalcollo entered his plea Sept. 30 in DuPage County, Illinois.
The state’s attorney’s office told the newspaper Dalcollo approached a 21-year-old woman outside a mall on March 22, 2019, and forced her into a car at gunpoint. He then ordered her to drive him to a bank in Glendale Heights and withdraw $300. After making him drive her to several other locations, they went to a parking garage at the Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin, Illinois, where he held the gun against the woman and sexually assaulted her.
Following the assault, Dalcollo had the woman drive him to a convenience store, and then call a cab to meet him at the Elgin train station.
The woman went to the hospital and reported the incident.
Dalcollo was arrested the following day in Chicago.
A pre-sentencing hearing is scheduled for Oct. 29.
