The Bryan Station Chapter NSDAR met on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at Equestrian Woods Clubhouse. They welcomed six new members.
Speaker for the event was Dr. Kim Kaiser (at right), who described her trip to Nepal.
From April 23 to May 5, 2019, Dr. Kim Kaiser, primary care physician of Sports Medicine in the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and team physician, participated in the Mount Everest Base Camp Wilderness and Expedition Medicine Conference.
At the base camp Dr. Kaiser’s team toured clinics who provide health care for the population in Nepal as well as assisting those injured who have attempted to reach the summit at Mount Everest. Her team hiked six hours a day in inclement weather to complete the 90-mile roundtrip.
Members of the team used their training to help people they encountered who were making attempts to hike the mountain.
