Francis Asbury Society speakers Jerry and Janice Coleman will be featured during a five-session couples’ retreat to grow and heal relationships next month.
This event will take place in Wilmore, from Nov. 15 through the 16.
“Our desire is to explore God’s original purpose for you as a person and for your relationship,” Jerry said. “If you come to this retreat, be prepared to think more about what love really is, and how real love can transform your relationship with each other and with the God who made you and brought you into each other’s lives.”
Beyond the spiritual focus, there is also a practical component to this year’s retreat, Jerry said. Janice has taught on four continents about how to build intimacy using the “Five love languages” pinpointed by Gary Chapman in his book of the same name. The Colemans also teach real-life ways to heal relationships through caring acts of forgiveness, and they uncover ways to improve communication based on each couple’s communication types.
Couples who are unmarried, engaged, and married are all welcome to the retreat. Through the sponsorship of members of Wilmore Free Methodist Church in Wilmore, this retreat will be a free event, but space will be limited. Childcare is avialable up to age 12 for the workshop and day retreat, as well as meals for the day retreat, will be provided.
